| Strategy: |
It is very hard to outrun, and due to the paralysis, it is not a good idea to try to solo them on a Paladin, Druid, or Sorcerer. Simply get a decent blocker, and SD it to death, it has low HP.
Sorcerer: This is a VERY hard monster to solo as a mage, if you must kill due to the quest do not try to face it without at least 2,000 mana points (2,500+ is recommended), use Energy Ring instead of Utamo Vita to both save mana and not to worry about it running out on the worst possible moment; unlike Giant Spiders, the widow is somehow inmune to fire so Hell's Core will be useless, and Rage of the Skies won't make enough damage unless you have a very high level and magic level, just take your Wand of Voodoo and spam the widow with SDs until she drops, while drinking as many Great Mana Potions as possible, Terra Set is recommended, altough you might want to wear a Protection Amulet instead of Terra Amulet, alternatively use SSA if your level is too low (60 or less will most likely die with just Mana Shield).
Paladin: Level 80+ can kill it by using Assassin Stars and mana shield (Energy Ring). Just stand next to the teleport so that only one Giant Spider can hit you and keep using Strong Mana Potion or Great Spirit Potion if your mana ends. If you are quick enough a good tatic is to use a Magic Wall in front of you so that only the Old Widow can hit you, or even only one of its summons. |
