IIRC, changing any template like this results in a tonne of entries into the job queue, which in turn creates a lot of work for my server. Would it not be best to just protect all heavily-utilised templates? --Erig 14:39, 10 May 2007 (PDT)

I agree, we should protect all heavily-utilised templates and add something like "This template is protected. If you think something should be changed, use the talk page". I protected this template.

Why can't I protect this page? When I click the confirm button, I get redirected back to Template:Spoiler, but it stills unprotected.
