• I think the page NPC can contain what probably was intended for NPC List. Just add a headline called "List of NPCs" and list them all down there. I think they belong to the same topic..

--Alreth 07:34, 24 Mar 2005 (EST)

 • I agree.

--Dark Tobberz 07:34, 16 May 2005 (EDT)

 • When you add NPCs, put them in alphabetic order. If you haven't finished adding NPCs for a town or place, please make a notation so other people can continue. It's sometimes hard to notice that a few NPCs are missing if the list is very long.

--Alreth 09:46, 30 May 2005 (EDT)

Once we find (or think we have found) all of the NPCs, we should make a second list. Alphabetical list of all NPCs or somesuch.
Rune Farmer–(talk)–(edits)–(profile)–(guild)–(house) 01:37, 16 Sep 2005 (EDT)

If this develops well i, or anyone, might make a NPC template. Main things for this page to stay uniform is NPC name, job, location, wares if any, possible aid to quests. Later maybe all the keywords and their responces could be added, but this depends upon this sites stance on quest spoiling which may vary. Try to watch for npcs in unlikely places and add them when able or someone who lives in one of the cities not covered much. Thanks. --DM ¦› talk to me ¦› Contribs]] 21:37, 11 Jul 2005 (EDT)

[edit] piped links

I noticed that some of the links looked like this:

Dallheim

I think this is confusing because if you look at the page it makes it look like we have an article on him. I realize we probably never will have an article on Dallheim, so we should make his name redirect to a list of Rookgaard NPCs rather than piping. Then somebody can use the search box and be redirected to the list.

Edit: actually we do have an article on Dallheim, but I didn't notice it because Dallheim gave a red link because the page was titled NPC Dallheim. Bad example i guess.

[edit] All those weird NPCs that are unique to their type

Under the "type of NPC" maybe we should have Other NPCs that leads to a page where all the "single type" npcs are listed; these "single type" npcs include Technomancer, Prophet, etc. I'd suggest a layout similar to the Rulers of Tibia page... and also link the NPC list of Viziers and Kings to the Rulers of Tibia page.

If no one is opposed, I'll work on that; it should clear out a lot of red links. --Digger Smith 07:06, 9 March 2006 (CST)

I think it would be best to make separate pages for those occupations that do not fit into other pages.

For example... Santa Claus is the only npc with his occupation, but it would still be nice to have a description of his occupation instead of just putting him in a list with a bunch of other npcs that have nothing to do with eachother.

Also, there is always the possibility that CIP will add more NPCs for these occupations.

NOTE: For occupations that have different names, but very similar functions, these should all just redirect to one page (like King NPCs, Queen NPCs, Emperor NPCs, etc. all redirect to Rulers of Tibia)

[edit] NPC links to Tibianews map

Some NPCs have the link to Tibianews showing their place in the map, it came to my mind that should they all have a link? Are some of them unmarked because it's considered quest spoiling or just because no one thought it is needed? Mocca-Kahve

The list of Priest NPCs is lacking from this page. Also, there are other NPC's that heal.

[edit] Tibia NPCs

Just a suggestion to add The Halloween Hare to the same category as Santa Claus and rename this category something more descriptive than Tibia such as Occasional NPCs or Special Event NPCs.
-Clyde

The Halloween Hare is a creature, not an NPC.

I beg to differ. You can't attack it, and it interacts with you (in a roundabout kind of way), which would make it a NPC.

It behaves exactly as a monster except for that it's immune to everything and it's attacks don't hunt you.

The hare is not "immune", you cannot attack, like if you click on an NPC. if he was immune you could at least use melee or wand, but you can't. And the hare don't follow you or run from you (a creature or stay away or chase you) the hare just walk with a big range, like Aruda or Melchior. I agree with Clyde.

I think the Hare is an NPC. But what about the ruthless herald, he does broadcast the orange letterss creatures do (doesn't he?)(seems like the Hare does it too), so is he a creature or an NPC. I know something, if you try do to creature illusion "NPCname" you likely get the messages "This creature doesn't exist" But if you try creature illusion "boss/creature name" and it's a creature you can't creature illusion, you get the messages "sorry not possible", Could someone check this? --Delatus 23:53, 23 May 2007 (PDT)

You CAN ATTACK both The Halloween Hare and The Ruthless Herald but you CAN'T DAMAGE them. There is no You can not attack this creature message. -EMbet - 24 May 2007

Npc means non player controlled, this means that all monsters in tibia are npcs but in the sence that we all understand an npc will talk to you great it (santa does, hare does not) allthough id like to see them in the same category.

NPC means Non-player character. See wikipedia Non-player character. I can see the The Halloween Hare as a Special Event NPCs.

Disaster, I have to disagree with you, the last Hare at least was not able to attack (I tried) Also as I said, he don't have a monster behavior (keep distance/chase/run away) he just walk around like Melchior.

-- † Pudd Knight †  Talk  Contribs  -- 08:52, 24 May 2007 (PDT)

The Ruthless Herald appeared like a normal monster though, just like one of those ranger creatures (Hunter, Dworc Venomsniper) that tries to keep a distance. Could it be possible to call the page Special Event NPCs and Creatures? We could also include Ned Nobel.

as i said before i think they should all be in the same catagory, whatever the name may be.

[edit] The ideas of the NPCs

Should we add to the pages what the NPCs think about something just like here? I think that some things that they say are rather useless and won't contribute with anything to the game and won't help anyone that is searching something in the wiki. For example what each NPC thinks of each city... Marcelovisky

Well, this just adds some flavour of RPG, so why not to add such notes. I also have an idea to map all NPCs speech and add to their pages. The most common keywords would be: hi/hello, name, job, buy/sell/trade, mission/quest, addon/outfit, tibia, thais/carlin/(other cities/places), (other npcs), excalibug/sword of fury/(other common equipment), monsters/creatures/(creatures' names). This would add big portions of text, but would be usefull for quests like Library.

[edit] Problem with loading

I recently have a problem while loading this page, it takes a very long time and gives an error then. It probably has something to do with the fact I added pictures to the npc lists and the browser needs to load all those pictures now. Maybe we should sort this page in another way like with Creatures. Just links to all npc lists of 1 town with one npc picture besides it.

[edit] NPC Animations

NPC animations are really over the top, I think the standing still picture works fine, perhaps remove the images from this page? and IF we decide to keep animations they should have slower delay, npc's are slower than monsters and do take small "breaks" per step.
Sixorish ~~ Talk ~~ Contribs

You are right it is ambitious to think all NPCs should be animated. But I don't think it's necessary to remove them. Not all NPCs have the same delay time. Some of them walk faster then others. Also, some npcs dont walk at all (e.g. Darashia market). I even think some important npcs can be animated.

How about modifying the list template to make it not display images? 429 images is a lot...

or maybe seperate? move this page to "List of NPCs" in case someone really wanted to look up a whole list of NPCs, and this page just contains the explanation of what "NPC" means, the number of NPCs in Tibia, links to NPCs by occupation, as well as city?
Sixorish ~~ Talk ~~ Contribs

I think thats best, i mean, thats a lot off info else on 1 page.

I already thought of an idea to make the page smaller. I worked on it a while a go here: User:Bennie/NPCs. Indead a good idea to move the npc page how it is like now to List of NPCs or something.

[edit] Changement op Page

I'm gonna change this page a bit so we don't have a long list with 400+ images anymore. The NPCs are differed in catagories, so I copied the method from the Creatures page. Anyone has objections? Please say it here.

[edit] NPC Images HP bars and names

Why NPC images have HP bars and names?, I think this is bad for wiki as HP bar is always full on NPC, NPC name is(or at least should be) mentioned on all pages including that NPC image and finally HP bar and name are ok as reference in game but here they interfere with NPC 'representation'.

--Daniel Letalis 02:24, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

At least you could have said that before we took those 400 screenshots, cleared background, uploaded etc. I think it's cool the way it is now.

^^  º Bennie º  ¤ Talk ¤  º Credits º  ^^ 06:37, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

I didn't notice until now but the idea is that the wiki is best not that people work less right? So, should be ok if I start 'fixing' the images? Who should I ask anyway?

--Daniel Letalis 21:30, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Why would you think it's bad format to leave the NPC's names in with Hp bars. It's as you'd see it in game. Character's without titles look wierd aswell - and ontop of that what if someone accidentally uploaded the wrong person to an NPC image. if that happened who would really cross check all the images, it's fully obvious which npc's are which when they have their name's built into the image. Craggles

According to what you say monsters names are needed then, I think I already said that but every page that shows NPC image shows/should show NPC name. Wiki is powerfull enough so we can check and fix if someone upload something wrong accidentally, also, how logical is to have a name(text data) on a jpg/gif on an information database? and, how usefull is a name(text data) on an image when we already have the field "Name" for NPCs? I don't think monsters need to have HP/Name bars on wiki and NPCs neither Daniel Letalis 08:58, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
