Talk:Convince
From TibiaWiki
The following creatures are missing:
Pirate Marauder 490 Mana - Level required - Knight:99 Paladin:39 Mage:24
Pirate Cutthroat 495 Mana - Level required - Knight:100 Paladin:39 Mage:24
Pirate Buccaneer 595 Mana - Level required - Knight:120 Paladin:46 Mage:27
Pirate Corsair 775 Mana - Level required - Knight:156 Paladin:58 Mage:33
Was just wondering, if you convince creature and bring it too far from spawn, will it poof like wild creature would? And what if you get too far from convinced creature, will it disappear or just start acting like wild creature again? --Ville-v 07:32, 3 March 2007 (PST)
I have not tested this, but I think they turn into "normal" summons... They follow you around no matter how far you walk, and they poof if you go 2 levels away, or are out of range for too long.
Once again... I have not tested this, but I *hope* that's how it works.
Also, when a convinced creature dies... it still drops loot, since it was spawned with loot. Summoned creatures are spawned without loot.... so they drop nothing when they die.

I convinced a dog outside Carlin and he followed me all the way to the Dwarven Bridge :) so they seem to not poof.

This page hasn't been edited since the update, so you can't rely on the information present. -- Sixorish 00:03, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
Ugggg cant a bot take care of updating this page by reading the convince line at monster pages?
--Kwigon the sharpshooter 01:14, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
I don't mind checking content that can be found on tibia.com but, shouldn't the list here be removed? and say "also see convince"? beejay 03:34, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
Hmm redirect convince to there, maybe

Template:Infobox Creature is protected for now. I suggest the following change to the page: add the 2 lines from User:Temahk/Sandbox20 to the categorisation at the end of the template. This will add categories to the creatures, e.g. Category:Summonable Creatures and Category:Convincible Creatures. We can then use the DPL call on User:Temahk/Sandbox19 to get a list of convincible creatures. Same goes for summonable creatures, but you'll need to adjust 1 category then.
Unfortunately I can't think of any clever stuff to include the level requirements for knights, pallies and mages right now. So if that really is a requirement.. You'll have to to it manually, until someone thinks of something. However, you'll have an overview of creatures in the 2 categories which should speed up the work a bit I guess.

Well, I have checked about half of the creatures summon/convincible from tibia.com and so far all is correct, wouldn't it work with the two different categories? Because some are summon or convince only. But, I guess if all of them were in the same list then it would not matter anyway. The currently level req. list is wrong, because mages would need to be 16 to use the rune, but I don't think that its important because players can figure out what level they need to be to convince if they want to know.
Also, I'm unfamiliar with categories. What would one do to list the creatures in the category? Or would the lists need to be done first? beejay 00:42, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
I suggested a change (which can be seen on User:Temahk/Sandbox20), added by Bennie here. It checks if summon is a value above 0, then adds the category. Same goes for the value convince, if it is above zero the category is added. Have a look at the categories from Rat and Cyclops Drone. You'll see a rat has both categories, while the cyclops drone only has one. The categories were automatically added thanks to the job queue.

Awesome. Huraah for the job queue :) ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 07:54, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
Ahh, see I just assumed that it would make the categories and also create the pages..silly me. Unfortunely I'm leaving today and I think that it will be only after friday when I will have internet again, so I will have too little time to finish this off. If the summon/convince page is going to use the dpl then this list wont really be needed. But here is my list from tibia.com of whats summon/convincible, the ones in bold (from pig) are the pages I haven't checked so far. Sorry that this is quickly wrote but I guess if anyone wants to check that they are correct then this will save them time.
