Monks in Tibia are particularly religious. They all believe in different gods, and some have no apparent religion, but instead they pledge their allegance to living creatures. The distinction between monks and priests and priestesses, is that monks have dedicated their lives to their religion, usually taking some kind of vow, or joining a reclusive order of monks. Priests and priestesses are more or less normal people that have decided to serve the needs of others.
Many monks cannot offer you any practical assistance, but some serve as priests and priestesses in the hometown temples.
